We’re in the middle of the Aussie school hols at the moment. My boys are too young to attend school, but the bigger one is starting 4yo Kinder next week so we’ve been enjoying a laidback, carefree lifestyle the last few weeks. Life is pretty much beach, play dates, and the occasional big trip out. I missed last week’s blog, so here are two weeks’ worth!

Wow, those two weeks of holidays flew by! I didn’t post last week as we went camping for the New Year break (my eyes enjoyed the break from editing!). We had a wonderful Christmas and it was amazing to see the excitement on the boys’ faces on Christmas Day. Camping was heaps of fun and gave the boys so much freedom in the outdoors with their friends. We went with nine other families so it was entertaining yet relaxing!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2015 brings you good health and heaps of happiness! Please follow our blog circle over to the amazing Christina Klahn of Twinflower Photography!

Wow, we’ve reached Christmas week already! This past week has been busier than ever, and even I have managed to do some Christmas partying! We attended a beach birthday party on Saturday, followed by watching Paddington at the cinema, and I have so enjoyed catching up with friends for cocktails. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas …

Party. Party. Party! My oldest boy has had such a busy social calendar these last few weeks, with concerts and end of term parties! He has had so much fun, and his little brother has enjoyed tagging along and dancing to the music. This week we visited a Christmas tree farm and had lots of fun running amongst the trees, playing hide-and-seek. We have been getting into the Christmas spirit even more, watching movies like Polar Express and The Snowman. Every night before bed, we read Christmas books, and I wonder if the boys dream about the magic of Christmas. They are sleeping more soundly recently!

This week we indulged in the festivities even more! There was lots of tree decorating (the kids’ fake tree until the real one is delivered this weekend!), crafty Christmas things and we were very excited to attend M’s Christmas concert, which was so much fun. My new favourite Christmas song is Surfin’ Santa – how could it not be after seeing all the littles singing brilliantly and pretending to surf! At the weekend I was very lucky to attend a fashion photography workshop with the amazing New York fashion photographer Emily Soto. Such an inspiring experience! I have included one of my fave images that I took during the workshop. I don’t have anyone to link to this week as I missed the blog circle deadline (one of my many fails this month!).

We’re officially in the Christmas month! This month my lovely blog circle has decided to show our gratitude for all the wonderful things in life. After all, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’! So this week, I am grateful for the chintzy but lovely Christmas shop in our neighbourhood, which has a Santa mailbox so that Mr M could post his pressie list and try to be a good boy for the rest of the month (hmmm). I am also grateful for bub’s chubby little toes, which look adorable in his first pair of proper walking shoes (summer sandals!). I am grateful for sweet brotherly moments, like the one below where big brother is falling asleep on little brother, and little brother is falling asleep on his treasured bunny. I used to think these moments were rare, but this 365 project is making me notice these moments more and more each day. And I’m also grateful for the sunshine, which seems to grace us with its presence every day recently, lucky us! This week I am linking to the lovely Charity Stauffer of A Mom and A Camera xx

This week has been all about chilling out and we haven’t done anything particularly extraordinary (although we should be grateful for the little extraordinary things in life that happen every day!). We are all still tired from our huge trip to England and Hong Kong, so we’ve spent our days relaxing in the lovely sunshine and appreciating our beautiful garden before we move house in two months. Bub has been a poorly soldier so most evenings have been spent pacing around the house trying to resettle him (reminding myself to be thankful for the extra cuddles, and to not think about the ever-expanding to-do list on my desk!). This week I am linking to the fabulous Heather Chang Photography xxx

I have recently joined a weekly blog circle with some pretty fantastic ladies who each love to document their precious family memories. It is a huge commitment and I’m a little daunted, but it’s a great way to preserve memories of these days that seem to fly by so quickly. And hopefully I’ll see some development in my photography skills too! Please click here to see more from our lovely blog circle, and this week I am linking to the wonderful Aerie Photography … Amy xx
